I fell asleep with my headphones on last night, so put them down by the side of my bed this morning. Just went to get changed and stood on them with the same 18st that broke my breaker bar. They didn’t stand a chance. I’m now looking forward to fail number 9, the last fail;
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Just want to get this over and done with.

Sennhieser? I’ve decided that their expensive stuff is nice and their cheap stuff is...cheap

In terms of build quality, I would agree with that statement. With that said, I haven’t heard better closed over-ear headphones than these at anywhere below £80, and these HD201’s are only £18.

Can't see the break exactly, but you should be able to weld that back together.

I’ve heard of them, but never heard them. Do they do over-ear closed back? I can only find on-ear phones for sale over here.

Mine are K271 Mark II
They aren’t colored like so many headphones, which is why I bought them...what they reproduce is accurate to the actual sound. (perfect for editing)

If I ever have to replace mine I’ll look into those.

I will say that they’re drawback is that the need a lot of power to run, so they are either maxed out on the device volume, or you run a seperate amp to get the most of them. On a computer or something that really drive output they are fine.

I had a pair of $300 PSB M4U2 headphones and the sound is exactly what I was looking for, but the build quality was the low point. They have metal hinges so that the earcups can fold inwards, but using this places a lot of stress on the plastic which holds the metal hinges, and one side broke first, now the second side is broken - both sides are held together with tape and now doesn’t close around my ears properly. As a result, the noise-cancelling doesn’t work as well and the sound quality just isn’t as good as it used to be since it doesn’t sit right.
Support says warranty is over, so tough shit. I loved these headphones but I expected these to last a lot longer than they did and can’t fathom spending another $300 on new headphones. I might end up going with some Audio Technica ones (M30-M50, not sure which) since they generally seem to be well-regarded, but I think I need to buy an amp anyway since headphone volume tends to be low from my PC.

Thanks. A local electronics shop has them in stock so I’ll pop across tomorrow and give them a listen.
